1. Who we are
Conexo ("we", "us") provides a platform that helps dancers, instructors, studios and organisers discover classes and events, RSVP, and connect. This policy explains what information we collect when you use the Conexo website and mobile apps, and how we use it.
2. Information we collect
- Account data: email address, display name, role (dancer, instructor, studio, organiser).
- Profile data you provide: bio, city, country, skill level, years dancing/teaching, specializations, avatar photo.
- Activity: classes you sign up for, events you RSVP to, kudos and ratings you give, photos you upload.
- Device tokens: if you opt in to push notifications, a token from Apple (APNs) or Google (FCM) that lets us deliver notifications to your device.
- Location: approximate location only when shown on a map (we do not track background location).
- Technical: IP address, browser/device type, basic error logs.
- Optional "About you" details: if you choose to, whether you usually dance as a leader or follower, your gender, nationality and age range. These are completely optional, every question has a "Prefer not to say" choice, and leaving them blank has no effect on what you can do in the app. They are never shown on your profile or to other dancers. We use them only to show organisers and our admin team combined percentages about who attends (for example "40% leaders"), never anyone's individual answers, and small groups are merged so no one can be singled out. You can change or clear them at any time in your profile, and they are deleted if you delete your account.
3. How we use it
- To operate the service — show classes/events, process RSVPs, send notifications.
- To keep you signed in and secure your account.
- To moderate content (we may review classes, events, photos, and reviews for safety).
- To improve the product (aggregate analytics, debugging).
We do not sell your personal data and we do not use it for third-party advertising.
4. Who can see your information
- Your public profile (name, avatar, bio, city) is visible to other Conexo users.
- RSVPs and class signups are visible to the event/class organiser.
- Payment status is visible to the organiser of the class/event you signed up for.
- Admins may access content for moderation.
5. Service providers
We use the following providers to run Conexo. They process data on our behalf under their own privacy terms:
- Supabase (database, authentication, file storage)
- Cloudflare (hosting, CDN)
- Google (Maps display, Firebase Cloud Messaging for Android push)
- Apple (APNs for iOS push)
- Stripe (payments, when enabled)
6. Your rights
You can:
- Edit or delete your profile at any time from the Profile page.
- Delete your account yourself at any time from Settings → Delete my account. Your personal data is deleted or anonymised straight away (shared records such as event chats show "Deleted dancer"), except where retention is required by law or for safeguarding reports. You can also contact us (see below).
- Disable push notifications in your device settings at any time.
- Request a copy of your data.
7. Data retention
Account data is retained while your account is active. Notifications older than 90 days are periodically purged. Backups are retained for up to 30 days.
8. Children
Conexo is not directed to children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
9. Changes
We may update this policy. Material changes will be announced in-app. The "Last updated" date above always reflects the current version.
